Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa today said Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya should resign over the controversy surrounding the Grade 6 English Module, instead of a Ministry official stepping down.

He said the Prime Minister, who is in charge of the Education Ministry, must take responsibility as she appointed the committee involved.

Rajapaksa also criticised the Education Ministry Secretary’s complaint to the CID, calling it unreasonable to claim an outsider could not have printed the book, and insisted accountability cannot rest with a single official.
