Hansitha Ratnayake powered St. Thomas' College Matale to wrap up the boys title with a thrilling 1-0 win over Kingswood College Kandy while the girls final saw Sri Sangamitta Girls’ School, Matale defeating Swarnamali Girls’ School, Kandy by 4-0.
Vidyartha College, Kandy annexed the boys third place by beating Vijaya College, Matale by 2-1 in the boys consolation final. Seethadevi Girls’ School, Kandy beat Christ Church College, Matale 4-2 on penalties to win the girls third place.
Meanwhile STC, Matale were crowned champions of Blue & Gold Hockey 7s last weekend beating Kingswood 3-0.

The four day tournament was conducted by the Central Province Department of Education to select the best six teams (3 boys’ & 3 girls’) from the Central Province to compete at the All Island Schools Games Hockey Championships 2024 to be held shortly.
