The Department of Meteorology has advised the public to take precautions as heavy showers exceeding 75 mm are expected in several areas today(5).

Showers or thundershowers are forecast for most provinces after 1 p.m.

Rain is also likely in the morning across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, Jaffna, and Mannar districts.
