Sri Lanka has recorded 951,742 tourist arrivals between January 1 and May 17, 2026, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said.

India remains the top source market with 221,953 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom, Russia, China and Germany.

The SLTDA said 75,465 tourists arrived between May 1 and May 17.

Authorities noted a decline in daily arrivals in May compared to earlier months in 2026.
