The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in most parts of Sri Lanka after 1 p.m. today (2).

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm is possible in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Uva, Southern, North Western and North Central provinces.

Misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
