The Kandy-Mahiyanganaya main road has been closed temporarily for all vehicular traffic between Medamahanuwara and Hasalaka.

The Kandy District Secretary confirmed the closure, stating the decision was made due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions in the area.

The road will remain inaccessible until further notice. 

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and monitor official announcements for updates on when the road will be reopened. 

The safety measure aims to prevent accidents during the inclement weather.
