The death toll in this morning's(25) fatal van-lorry collision at the Thalawa–Mirigama junction on the Kurunegala–Anuradhapura main road has tragically climbed to four, after one of the hospitalized victims succumbed to their injuries.

Initially, three individuals, all passengers from the van, died at the scene and four others were injured. 

The accident involved a head-on crash between a lorry traveling from Anuradhapura to Kurunegala and a van traveling in the opposite direction.

A total of seven individuals, including both drivers, were admitted to the Thalawa and Anuradhapura hospitals. 

Thalawa Police are currently investigating the incident.
