SriLankan Airlines flight UL306, en route from Colombo to Singapore, was diverted to Medan Airport in Indonesia due to a technical issue.
All 93 passengers and 8 crew members disembarked safely, though hotel transfers were delayed due to strict immigration procedures.
The airline ensured passenger welfare during the wait and expressed gratitude to both the Indonesian and Sri Lankan embassies for their assistance in securing necessary clearances.
A relief flight, UL302, departed from Colombo at 2:24 p.m. today (6) to fly the passengers from Medan to Singapore.
An engineering team has also been sent from Colombo to repair the grounded aircraft.
SriLankan Airlines reaffirmed that passenger safety remains its top priority.
