The Government said that it will discuss with the Election Commission about the possibility of allowing several parties performing election-related duties including journalists to cast their vote through the postal voting system.

Mass Media Minister and Cabinet Spokesperson Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa made this statement during the weekly Cabinet press briefing held yesterday (8). That was in response to a question raised by the media about journalists engaged in election-related duties not being allowed to cast their vote through the postal voting system. He explained that several parties, including Health Ministry employees, do not currently have postal voting rights, and that requests have been made in this regard.
