An employee of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) initiated a hunger strike today (31) against the Deputy Director, Dr. Rukshan Bellana. 

Reports indicate that the employee has climbed to the rooftop of the NHSL and is refusing to descend. 

While the precise reasons for the protest against Dr. Bellana remain undisclosed, it is noteworthy that he has been a contentious figure at the NHSL, previously prompting employee riots where he required police protection to escape.
