A live hand grenade has been discovered in the Nabadawewa reservoir in Eppawala.

Sri Lanka Police stated that the item was found by a person near the reservoir and reported to authorities.

The area has been secured and the incident has been reported to the Thambuttegama Magistrate’s Court.

The Special Task Force has been deployed to carry out a controlled detonation.
