The Road Development Authority (RDA) has closed the Norton Bridge–Sripada route via Ginigathhena and Diyagala from June 14 to 24 to construct a new Bailey bridge, as the existing structure is at risk of collapse.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes through Kalugala, Polpitiya, and Laxapana.

The damaged bridge, spanning a canal into the Kelani River, has faced severe deterioration over the past four years, worsened by recent rainfall.
