Indonesian Navy Ship KRI Bima Suci arrives in Colombo

The Indonesian Navy sailing ship KRI Bima Suci - 945 arrived at the Port of Colombo yesterday (15), marking a significant moment of naval cooperation between Sri Lanka and Indonesia.


The vessel was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), following long-standing naval traditions.


Its arrival is a key highlight of the ASEAN Plus Cadet Sail (APCS) 2026* programme, which involves naval cadets from 26 countries sailing alongside their Indonesian counterparts.


This event fosters international camaraderie and professional development among young naval officers.


Commanded by Commander Sugeng Hariyanto, the ship's visit includes participation by Officer Under-Trainees of the Sri Lanka Navy in various onboard programmes.

 

Sri Lankan naval personnel will also observe operational activities aboard the ship, facilitating knowledge exchange and professional growth.


Beyond official engagements, the crew of KRI Bima Suci will partake in several activities organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to promote camaraderie and strengthen bilateral cooperation. 


They will also visit various tourist attractions across Sri Lanka, providing opportunities for cultural exchange and fostering friendly relations between the two nations.
