The Cabinet has approved the modernisation of the state-owned Ampara Ekkaloya Tourist Resort and Riverston Tourist Resort (Thumpara Forest Resort) as part of a project identified by the Department of Forest Conservation.
A funding allocation of 166.93 million rupees has been secured, with completion expected this year.
Renovation work will be supervised by the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, with contracts awarded to private companies.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance tourism infrastructure in the country.
