Prime Minister(PM) Harini Amarasuriya has instructed officials to expedite compensation payments for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The directive was issued during a meeting of the “Rebuilding Sri Lanka” Presidential Task Force.

She also instructed that housing repairs and new construction be carried out without delay.

Officials reviewed progress of the programme and noted that meetings will continue to monitor implementation.

A discussion with district and divisional officials is to be held to speed up housing and infrastructure work.
