The Cabinet has approved amendments banning all forms of child labour, effective from today (1).
Children under 16 are prohibited from begging or commercial activities, while those aged 16–18 are barred from hazardous jobs, including risky domestic service.
The laws aim to protect vulnerable children, especially those without parental care, from exploitation and trafficking.
Authorities will enforce the regulations rigorously and launch a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about child labour risks and children’s rights.
