Parents and adults have been urged to prioritise children’s safety when flying kites during the school holidays, Acting Director of Lady Ridgeway Hospital Dr Pradeep Rathnasekara stated.

He warned that flying kites from elevated locations or near high-voltage power lines could result in serious injuries or fatal electric shocks.

Parents have been advised to prevent children from flying kites near power lines and to remain vigilant to avoid accidents.
