Colombo Mayor Vraîe Cally Balthazaar joined a group of vision-impaired individuals yesterday (11) to raise awareness about the difficulties they face navigating the city.
To experience their challenges firsthand, Mayor Balthazaar walked through parts of Colombo while blindfolded, accompanied by Sri Lanka’s first vision-impaired MP, Sugath Wasantha de Silva.
“I am being blindfolded so I understand what it is to be in the city without sight,” the Mayor said during the awareness walk.
