The U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka has launched the Coach Jim Dimick Memorial Baseball Classic under its Freedom 250 Baseball Series.

The event marks 250 years of United States independence and 40 years of baseball in Sri Lanka.

The tournament featured Royal College Colombo, Kingswood College Kandy, and Richmond College Galle.

Kingswood College won the final match against Richmond College to secure the Freedom 250 championship.

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Jayne Howell and officials attended the opening ceremony at Royal College Colombo.
