Sri Lanka Police have identified a woman who aided the assassination of notorious drug trafficker Sanjeewa Kumara Samararathne, alias “Ganemulla Sanjeewa,” inside the Aluthkade Courts Complex this morning (19).

Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga revealed that the suspect had disguised herself as a lawyer and smuggled a revolver into the court by concealing it inside a hollowed-out book.

The gunman fled through a nearby gate after warning others about the shooting. Despite police efforts to secure the area, the suspect managed to escape.

The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are conducting further investigations.
