Supreme Court (SC) Judge S. Thurairaja was sworn in as the Acting Chief Justice before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (7).  

The appointment was made to serve in the position until Chief Justice Priyasath Dep Surasena, who is currently overseas, returns to the country.  

Presidential Secretary Nandika Sanath Kumara Nayaka was also present at the occasion.
