Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has proposed a low-cost ticketing system for tourist attractions to promote lesser-known destinations and reduce congestion at popular national parks.

Addressing the Parliamentary Caucus on Climate Change, he also called for measures to address the shortage of wildlife veterinary surgeons and strengthen the Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Premadasa noted that only 17 of the 33 required veterinary surgeons are currently serving in the department.
