The Department of Railways has announced key changes to train services on the Northern Line, effective 7 July, in response to public demand.

The Intercity Express train between Mount Lavinia and Kankesanthurai, previously limited to weekends, will now operate daily.

Additionally, the Yaal Devi train’s departure from Colombo Fort has been rescheduled from 5:45 a.m. to 6:40 a.m.

Passengers with advance bookings on Yaal Devi are requested to take note of the new timing.
