The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) has informed the Matara Magistrate’s Court that the ‘Brown’s Hill’ land in Matara, reportedly linked to former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, has been seized.

The FCID informed the Court that the acquisition of the property could not be established during investigations.

The Division made the disclosure while reporting facts before the Matara Magistrate’s Court in connection with its investigation into the property.

The land, known as ‘Brown’s Hill’, has reportedly been linked to former Minister Rajapaksa. However, the FCID informed the Court that its investigations had so far failed to establish how the property had been acquired.
