The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the implementation of the National Tax Policy to establish a transparent, predictable, and stable tax framework supporting trade, investment, and financial goals in Sri Lanka.

The policy was reviewed by the National Tariff Policy Office to align provisions with recent economic, fiscal, and trade data, statutory requirements, and recommendations from the Parliamentary Committee on Finance.

President, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, submitted the proposal based on recommendations from the National Tax Policy Committee, which was subsequently approved by Cabinet.
