The Police have urged the public to remain vigilant following a rise in online financial scams on social media platforms.
Police Spokesman ASP F.U. Wootler outlined nine common types of fraud, including fake loan schemes, phishing links, investment scams, and online job fraud.
Authorities advise citizens not to share banking details, OTPs, or PINs, and to avoid sending money to unknown individuals.
The Police also warned against installing apps from unverified sources and requested the public to verify account authenticity.
Victims of fraud are encouraged to report incidents to the CID’s Cyber Crime Unit immediately.
