President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed G.M.R.D. Aponsu as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Energy.

The letter of appointment was handed over at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.

Aponsu previously served as Senior Additional Secretary to the President for Finance and Economic Affairs.

The appointment follows the resignation of Kumara Jayakody and Udayanga Hemapala earlier today.
