Anudi Gunasekara has achieved a groundbreaking milestone for Sri Lanka at the 72nd Miss World Festival in Telangana, India, by becoming the First Runner-Up from Asia in the Miss World Multimedia Challenge.

Her exceptional digital engagement placed her in the global Top 20 and earned her a position among the Top 8 winners worldwide—an unprecedented feat for a Sri Lankan contestant.

This also marked Sri Lanka’s first-ever placement in the Top 20 of three Miss World fast-track events: Talent, Head-to-Head Challenge, and Multimedia.

The Multimedia Challenge recognizes contestants’ storytelling and advocacy efforts through digital platforms, with judging based on content shared across social media and the Miss World app.

Anudi’s achievement not only highlights her individual excellence but also brings new global recognition to Sri Lanka’s presence in international pageantry.
