The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) will conduct a public consultation to gather opinions on a proposed electricity tariff increase for the second quarter of 2026.
The consultation period runs from 25 February to 18 March.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has requested approval to increase electricity tariffs by 13.56% for the period from 1 April to 30 June, 2026.
During the consultation, members of the public can submit written comments or present oral statements at designated locations. The scheduled oral submission sessions are:
March 7 – Ampara
March 11 – Vavuniya
March 12 – Matale
March 16 – Hambantota
March 18 – Final session
The PUCSL emphasised that the final decision on the tariff revision will be made after considering all public input.
