The International Monetary Fund has reaffirmed continued support for Sri Lanka’s economic recovery.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva noted progress following a staff-level agreement on programme reviews.

The Sri Lankan delegation, led by Nandalal Weerasinghe, held discussions during the IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings 2026.

Officials noted the importance of sustaining reforms and policy discipline to support long-term growth.
