President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that the government is preparing a national policy to strengthen the country’s public transport system.

He noted that plans are underway to introduce new buses that meet proper standards while gradually removing older buses.

The remarks were made at an event at Temple Trees where appointment letters were issued to 199 drivers and 342 conductors of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
