Two girls, aged 12 and 17, drowned while bathing in the Palukadawala Lake in Galgamuwa yesterday afternoon (13), the Police said.

They had gone swimming in the lake while visiting a relative’s house. They are residents of Ratnapura and Mirigama.

The bodies of the deceased are currently placed at the morgue of the Galgamuwa Base Hospital.
