The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has adjourned the case against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake until 30 September.

The court directed that the Attorney General’s position on the case be presented at the next hearing.

State Counsel informed the court that investigations have been completed and the case files have been forwarded to the Attorney General.

The case relates to the alleged misuse of public funds during a visit to the United Kingdom in 2023.
