Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa today (10) met Opposition MPs representing the North, East and Malaiyaham communities to discuss challenges faced by people in these areas.
The meeting, held at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Parliament, focused on rising living costs, inflation, household incomes and infrastructure concerns.
Healthcare, education, access to quality medical services, school education and child nutrition were also discussed.
Premadasa stressed the need for continued political intervention to address longstanding social and economic issues affecting these communities and improve their living standards.
The importance of closer coordination among Opposition MPs to identify grassroots-level issues and work towards practical solutions was also discussed.
