The Department of Prisons will evaluate a request by suspended IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon to receive home-cooked meals while in custody.

Prisons Commissioner Gamini B. Dissanayake stated that Tennakoon must provide valid reasons for the request, which will then be assessed by prison authorities.

Tennakoon, remanded until 3 April over a shooting incident in Weligama.
