The Cabinet has approved presenting committee-stage amendments to the Financial Transactions Reporting (Amendment) Bill and the Prevention of Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill in Parliament.

The amendments were drafted by the Legal Draftsman after considering Supreme Court determinations and other required revisions.

The Attorney General has also cleared the proposed amendments.

The resolution was submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Finance Minister.
