Discussions are underway on whether to introduce a fuel subsidy or revise fuel prices, CPC Chairman D. J. Rajakaruna stated.

He noted that several fuel companies are currently incurring losses on fuel sales and cannot continue selling at a loss on a commercial basis.

Rajakaruna stated that discussions are focused on either allowing companies to sell fuel at prices that prevent losses or having the Government provide a subsidy.
