04 Dec 2025

WealthTrust Securities Limited (WTS), a Sri Lankan non-bank primary dealer, announced the formal commencement of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) process, following a successful conclusion to its media launch and investor forum held earlier this week.

The event provided an in-depth overview of WTS’s upcoming IPO and the strategic rationale supporting the capital raise. WTS is offering 71,548,244 Ordinary Voting Shares at Rs. 7.00 per share with the intention of raising Rs. 500,837,708 through an offer for subscription.

During the forum, company leaders outlined how the IPO is designed to strengthen WTS’s core capital position, enhancing resilience against unexpected interest rate volatility and improving its ability to manage market risks associated with primary dealer operations.

The company reiterated that the capital infusion will be used in the ordinary course of business, primarily to expand its trading portfolio of government securities as favourable opportunities arise. WTS also confirmed that it already meets the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s minimum core capital requirements for 2026 and 2027.

A highlight of the event was WTS’s reaffirmed A- (Positive outlook) credit rating from Lanka Rating Agency, a key indicator of the company’s stability and prudent management. Speakers emphasized WTS’s conservative trading approach, which has minimised losses even during periods of market volatility – recording only one marginal loss in the past 12 years. Its seasoned senior management team, with collective experience exceeding over 100 years, was also showcased as a core strength driving the company’s disciplined performance.

The subscription list for the IPO will open on 17 December, offering investors the opportunity to participate in the next stage of the company’s growth journey. Upon completion, WTS plans to list on the Diri Savi Board of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), subject to adherence with listing requirements.
