A total of 1,790 people from 504 families in 10 districts have been affected by ongoing adverse weather, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.

At least 10 weather-related deaths and four injuries have been reported in recent days. Two houses have been destroyed and 193 damaged due to heavy rain and strong winds.

The DMC urged the public to contact the 117 hotline for any emergencies.

According to the Department of Meteorology, showery conditions will continue, with thundershowers expected especially in the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces, and heavy rainfall above 100 mm in some areas.

Authorities advised the public to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
