The Department of Meteorology says showers will occur at times today in the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the North Western Province, while strong winds of 40–50 km/h are forecast in parts of the country. The public has been advised to take necessary precautions.
