Right-arm off-spinner Aritha Fernando took a matchbag of 10 wickets to spearhead the British School in Colombo to a comprehensive innings victory over the Science College Mount Lavinia “B” Team in their Inter-Schools Under-13 Division 3 Cricket Tournament first-round match played at President’s College Grounds in Kotte.
Aritha returned excellent figures of 6 wickets for 11 in the first innings and followed up with a four-wicket haul in the second innings as Science College were skittled out for 31 and 92, respectively.
Earlier, the British School posted 124 in their first innings, thanks to a fighting half-century from their wicket-keeper opening batsman Tej Krishan, who hoisted one 6 and seven boundaries.
In addition, Dev Bafna, batting at number nine, produced a late flurry with a 27-ball 21, inclusive of five boundaries.
