The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) recently conducted a Cyber Safety Awareness Programme for Members of Parliament (MP), focusing on promoting responsible digital practices in governance.
The event addressed critical issues such as phishing, data breaches, and misinformation, with expert-led sessions on cyber hygiene and secure communication.
Attended by key officials including Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih and Deputy Chairperson Hemali Weerasekere, the programme aimed to enhance lawmakers' awareness of cyber threats.
Officials highlighted that strengthening cybersecurity knowledge among MPs is essential for safeguarding national security and public trust.
SLCERT plans to expand such training across both public and private sectors.
