President Anura Kumara Dissanayake reviewed the progress of the ‘Prajashakthi’ National Poverty Alleviation Programme during a discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat today (11).
According to the President’s Media Division, projects worth Rs. 23,000 million have already been approved from the Rs. 25,000 million allocated under the 2026 Budget for the programme.
The funds have been directed towards livelihood development, food security and production economy projects prioritised by Community Development Councils.
Officials also noted that 13,977 Community Development Councils have been established at Grama Niladhari Division level across the country.
