The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka will introduce a regulatory framework to control the use of drones.

CAASL Director General Captain Daminda Rambukwella stated that all drones of 250 grams or more and those used for commercial purposes must be registered.

He noted that enforcement of existing drone regulations will begin this year, while toy drones under 250 grams will not be regulated.
