The Supreme Court (SC) has scheduled the hearing of former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen’s Fundamental Rights petition for 25 March 2026.

Bathiudeen filed the petition challenging his 2021 arrest and detention by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) during former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s tenure, claiming it violated his fundamental human rights.
