ICONS exhibition brings masterpieces across centuries to Colombo

24 Apr 2026

The Sky Gallery of the Fareed Uduman Art Forum is presenting ICONS, an exhibition designed to bring together audiences, cultures and artistic periods through accessible art experiences.

The exhibition features works inspired by leading artists across different eras, following previous showcases that included Gustav Klimt, Frida Kahlo, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dalí.

Conceived as a dialogue across centuries, ICONS brings together works representing artistic movements from the Renaissance to the modern era. The exhibition presents these works at their original scale, allowing visitors to engage with compositions, techniques and visual detail in a format that reflects the original creations.

At the centre of the exhibition is The Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck. The exhibition also includes works associated with artists such as Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Leonardo da Vinci, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt, Paul Cézanne and Caravaggio.

By presenting works from different regions and time periods within a single space, the exhibition enables visitors to compare styles, trace artistic developments and explore connections between artists.

ICONS is curated for a broad audience, offering an environment that supports both general viewing and deeper engagement with art.

The exhibition will be held from 24 April to 3 May at Sky Gallery Colombo 5, and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
