President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will undertake an official visit to Japan from 27 to 30 September, at the invitation of the Japanese government.

During the visit, President Dissanayake will have an audience with His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and hold a summit meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister to discuss a wide range of issues.

He is also scheduled to address a Business Forum in Tokyo to encourage Japanese investment in Sri Lanka.

The President will attend EXPO 2025 Osaka on the occasion of Sri Lanka Day to highlight the nation's cultural heritage and economic potential.

He will also address the Sri Lankan expatriate community residing in Japan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, will accompany the President on the visit, which is expected to deepen the longstanding ties between the two countries
