The owner of the cab involved in the fatal Meegoda Junction crash and another suspect have been remanded until 16 June.

Police said the two suspects surrendered through a lawyer at the Meegoda Police Station and were arrested.

The crash occurred on the Avissawella–Colombo High Level Road when a cab reportedly ploughed into people waiting at a dansala.

Six people were killed and seven others were seriously injured. The cab driver had already been remanded until 16 June by the Homagama Magistrate’s Court.
