Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) Chairman Krishan Balendra praised the 2026 Budget for demonstrating “unprecedented economic discipline,” saying it has boosted private sector confidence for new investments.
Speaking at a post-budget discussion held in Colombo on Thursday (7), Finance Secretary Harshana Suriyapperuma highlighted the government’s focus on digitalization and anti-corruption measures to support growth, while Labour Minister and Deputy Finance Minister Anil Jayantha emphasized inclusivity and clean governance in budget preparation.
