MAS Holdings recently announced that it won four championship titles in multiple categories at the recently concluded Mercantile Volleyball Tournament held at the Sir Albert F Peiris Sports Complex, Wennappuwa.
The 2-day tourney saw some of Sri Lanka’s best players in action with plenty of promise shown for the future of the national sport.
The MAS Women’s squad were a class apart as they proved their dominance by securing the 1st place titles in the Masters, Championship and the Super League categories. Meanwhile the Men’s A-Division title was safely secured by MAS as well.
Masters – Women: Winners – MAS Intimates Casualline
In the finals MAS Casualline beat Maliban 25-09 and 25-14 to clinch a 2-0 clean sweep.

In a tough grand finale, Unichela staged a superb comeback in the 2nd (25-18) and 3rd (25-17) sets after losing out in the 1st set (25-21) against Brandix Apparel Essentials to lift the title after a tense 2-1 victory.
